Sinopé Neviweb smart home integration, free and open source

Sinopé Neviweb integration for Gladys Assistant

Sinopé thermostats, dimmers, load controllers and leak detectors from your Neviweb account.

Your Sinopé devices in Gladys, through Neviweb, the Sinopé cloud: thermostats for electric baseboards and floor heating, light switches and dimmers, load controllers (water heater, pool, car charger), water leak detectors and the GT125 and GT130 gateways — the first-generation devices (GT125), the Zigbee ones behind a GT130, and the Wi-Fi ones.

Developed without the hardware: feedback welcome. The integration was written from what the HACS integrations of the community know of Neviweb, without a Sinopé device nor a Neviweb account: tell us what works and what does not on GitHub.

What you need

  • A Neviweb account (the one of the Neviweb app), with your devices in it.
  • Gladys Assistant 5.2.0 or later.
  • Internet access from Gladys: every reading goes through neviweb.com.

The Zigbee devices you paired directly to Zigbee2MQTT are not concerned: they already work in Gladys without Neviweb.

Set up

  1. In Gladys, Integrations → Install from GitHub, then https://github.com/guim31/gladys-sinope.
  2. In the configuration, enter the E-mail and Password of your Neviweb account.
  3. Neviweb locations: leave empty to read every location of the account, or type the names to keep, separated by commas (Home, Cottage).
  4. Reading interval: 5 minutes (default) or 10 minutes.
  5. Language of the feature names: French by default.
  6. Save, then press Test the Neviweb connection: it lists the locations and the supported devices.
  7. In the Discovery tab, add the devices you want: only the devices added to Gladys are read.

The Neviweb session is kept in the integration's /data volume, so a restart does not log in again. Your password stays in the Gladys configuration.

The devices

Each Sinopé device becomes one Gladys device, named as in Neviweb.

Thermostats

Baseboard thermostats (TH1120RF, TH1121RF, TH1123ZB, TH1124ZB and their G2, TH1500, TH1123WF, TH1124WF, TH1133WF/CR, TH1134WF/CR, TH1143WF, TH1144WF, TH1145WF, THEWF01, Ouellet OTH), floor heating thermostats (TH1300RF, TH1300ZB, TH1320ZB, TH1300WF, TH1310WF, TH1325WF, Flextherm) and low-voltage thermostats (TH1400).

  • Temperature: the room temperature.
  • Setpoint: the target temperature, by half degree, within the bounds set on the thermostat.
  • Mode: off or heating. Off stops the heating until you turn it back on: in a Québec winter, prefer Away or Frost to stop heating a room.
  • Preset: Schedule (the Neviweb programme, Auto mode), Comfort (the manual setpoint), Away and Frost. Every thermostat offers Schedule and Comfort; Away exists on the first-generation and Wi-Fi thermostats, Frost on the first-generation ones.
  • Heating state: heats or not.
  • Heating power: the heating demand, from 0 to 100 %.
  • Consumption: see Energy (GT130 and Wi-Fi thermostats, except low-voltage ones).

Lights and dimmers

SW2500 light switches and DM2500, DM2550 dimmers.

  • Light: on or off.
  • Brightness: from 0 to 100 % (dimmers). A dimmer turned back on returns to its last brightness.

Load controllers and water heaters

RM3250 load controllers, RM3500 and RM3510 water heater controllers (Calypso), SP2600 and SP2610 outlets.

  • On/off: powers the load or not.
  • Power: the power drawn now, in watts.
  • Water temperature (water heater controllers).
  • Water leak (RM3500ZB with its probe).
  • Consumption: see Energy (GT130 and Wi-Fi controllers).

Leak detectors

WL4200, WL4200S, WL4200C and WL4210 detectors on a GT130.

  • Water leak: water detected or not.
  • Battery: estimated from the voltage of the batteries (alkaline).
  • Temperature: the temperature measured by the detector.

Gateways

GT125 and GT130.

  • Online: whether Neviweb reaches the gateway.

A device Neviweb cannot reach shows the "unreachable" badge in Gladys until it answers again.

Energy

The GT130 and Wi-Fi thermostats and load controllers get a Consumption feature: the energy of every half-hour, in kWh, from the hourly history of Neviweb. Neviweb publishes an hour about two hours late; the integration reads the last 24 hours once an hour and dates every half-hour, so the energy dashboard and the contracts of Gladys 5.2 (a Hydro-Québec rate with critical peaks, for instance) count it in the right slot. A device added to Gladys gets the last 24 hours right away. The first-generation devices (GT125) give no history.

Dashboard

The Sinopé thermostats widget shows every thermostat of the house: room temperature, setpoint, heating power (orange while it heats), off (grey) or unreachable (red). Its setting picks the thermostats to show (all by default, ten at most). A banner says when an Éco-Sinopé peak period is in progress, and two buttons set the Neviweb home/away mode: Home and Away (the current one carries a check mark; Away asks for confirmation).

Scenes

Triggers

  • Éco-Sinopé peak period started: a device enrolled in the Éco-Sinopé programme receives a peak event from Neviweb (the preheating included). The variable devices gives the number of devices in the event.
  • Éco-Sinopé peak period ended: no device is in a peak event any more.

The integration reads these events from the devices themselves (the drStatus of the GT130 and Wi-Fi thermostats and load controllers): it sees them at the next reading, up to 5 minutes late. A restart in the middle of a peak does not fire the trigger a second time.

Actions

  • Set the Neviweb home/away mode: Home or Away on every location of the configuration. Away lowers each thermostat to its own away setpoint, set in the Neviweb app; nothing is turned off. The output locations gives the number of locations changed.

The setpoint, mode and preset of each thermostat, the lights and the load controllers are commanded from the usual "Control a device" action.

Scene ideas

  • When an Éco-Sinopé peak starts, turn off the pool load controller and notify the household; turn it back on when the peak ends.
  • When everybody has left, set the Neviweb mode to Away; Home when the first person comes back.
  • When a leak detector sees water, send an alert and turn off the water heater.

Neviweb quotas

Sinopé limits the calls to Neviweb: 30,000 requests a day per account, and it has cut off accounts that called too often. The integration therefore:

  • reads every 5 minutes (10 if you choose), the pace Sinopé asks for;
  • sends one request at a time;
  • reads only the devices added to Gladys: one request per device and per reading, plus one for the locations, and one an hour per device with a consumption;
  • keeps the session in /data and logs in only when Neviweb asks for it;
  • counts its requests of the day and stops reading at 25,000, until midnight (your commands still go).

With 20 devices, that is about 6,500 requests a day. The connection test shows the requests of the day.

Troubleshooting

  • "Neviweb refused this e-mail and password": correct them and save. The integration does not try a refused password again, so a Neviweb account never gets locked by repeated attempts.
  • "too many sessions or logins": Neviweb limits the open sessions (the app, the web site, Home Assistant...). The integration waits 15 minutes before logging in again.
  • "Daily Neviweb request budget reached": too many requests today (often another tool on the same account); the readings resume at midnight.
  • A device is missing from Discovery: its model is not supported (see Limits); the connection test names it.
  • A device shows "unreachable": Neviweb cannot reach it (gateway unplugged, Wi-Fi down, battery): check it in the Neviweb app.
  • Logs: the integration only logs what happens (start, a device lost or back, your commands, the peaks). Start it with LOG_LEVEL=debug to see every reading. No password, e-mail nor session ever appears in the logs.

Limits

  • Cloud only: no Neviweb, no reading nor command. Gladys sees a change up to 5 minutes late (10 with the slow pace).
  • Not supported: heat pumps (HP6000), heat/cool thermostats (TH6xxxWF, TH1134ZB-HC), Sedna valves and their flow meters, tank level monitors, multi-controllers, and the devices paired directly to Zigbee2MQTT.
  • The settings of the devices (backlight, keypad lock, early start, timers, away setpoint) stay in the Neviweb app.
  • The GT130 thermostats offer no Away nor Frost preset in Gladys: use the Neviweb home/away mode.
  • The feature names are set when a device is added: a change of language applies to the devices added afterwards.
  • Developed without the hardware nor an account: the shapes of the Neviweb answers come from the community integrations and some are assumptions (the dates of the consumption history, the peak status of the Wi-Fi devices). Feedback welcome on GitHub.

How to install Sinopé Neviweb in Gladys

  1. In Gladys, open Integrations: Sinopé Neviweb appears in the catalog, next to the native integrations, with a community badge.
  2. Click Install. Gladys pulls the Docker image (ghcr.io/guim31/gladys-sinope:1.0.1), starts it in a sandbox isolated from the core, and generates the integration's interface (devices, discovery and configuration).
  3. Open the Configuration screen of the integration, fill in the settings, and save.
  4. You can also install it directly from its repository URL: https://github.com/guim31/gladys-sinope.

Sinopé Neviweb requires Gladys >=5.2.0. The catalog inside Gladys refreshes every hour, so a new version becomes available at most one hour after its release.

Not running Gladys yet? It is free and open source: follow the installation guide to get started.

About external integrations

Sinopé Neviweb is an external integration: a community integration packaged as a Docker container and published on GitHub, that Gladys installs in one click and runs in a sandbox isolated from its core. It is published and maintained by guim31, not by the Gladys core team.
